"Cannonball Cars"

I.e. cars that can be bought on the west coast for cheap and sold on the east coast for profit. Prime candidates to do the cannonball run in.

See my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for all the details.

With that being said, I think !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! mercedes 300td would be a good candidate for a Cannonball run. It's comfier than my Miata, it'll hold a hell of a lot more, it's not likely to break down along the way, it won't cost an insane amount in fuel, and I think it would be an even trade for my 96 M edition.

There aren't a lot of 300TDs on the east coast, likely having all rusted out, so I think this should also make me a pretty penny if spruced up and sold as a fully sorted car.

I'm not sure how helpful KBB is with older cars, but if it is have you tried researching the price in your location and where you would sell it. And if that does work then try posting to CL or something in the area where you plan on selling it and see who bites. I think with older cars the potential buyers will wait a little bit for you to drive it to them.

This was just my two cents, hopefully it was well spent and not total crap.

Are you suggesting posting this person's photos along with my contact info on my east coast craigslists?

That might just work, but then any buyer would be able to search for the original listing and figure out how much profit I'd be making.

No first I would check KBB and compare prices between CA and the east coast and see if there are any differences. If there are better resources though I would check those. I use NADA Guides for newer cars but I'm not how sure it is for older cars, but you could give it a shot.
